Mounted Games is a team sport that combines a love of ponies and friends with various races. Teams of four or five riders and ponies take part in a series of exciting and exhilarating races that involve a mix of turns, handovers, skill, vaulting and galloping against other teams.
Often ran on grass or all-weather surfaces, Mounted Games is an adaptation of Gymkhana and is great fun for you, your pony and your team. You can develop skills such as improving accuracy, agility, concentration, speed, hand to eye coordination, team work and sportsmanship whilst having lots of fun playing some imaginative games.
We attend lots of 1 day competitions as well as overnight ones all over the country. Children stay in tents or lorries with parents and ponies are corralled. Its a great social event with BBQs, discos as well as the children having fun competing usually in 4 competitions over 2 days.
The date for Area is to be announced.
Members wishing to compete at Area level or above must be active Members of the Branch and have attended a minimum of 3 rallies and have been members of the Pony Club since 31st January in the current year. Attendance at camp counts as one working rally.
